“Christ the Lord Is Risen Today”

Prayer of Adoration (responsive):

Pastor:  Glory be to Thee, O Father Almighty, who as on this day didst

raise up thy Son from the dead and dost make us partakers of his victory over sin and death.

PEOPLE:  GLORY BE TO THEE, O CHRIST, WHO FOR US AND

FOR OUR SALVATION HAST OVERCOME DEATH, AND OPENED UNTO US THE GATE OF EVERLASTING LIFE.

Pastor:  Glory be to Thee, O Holy Spirit, who dost lead us into all

truth as it is in the risen Christ.

ALL:  BLESSED BE THOU, FATHER, SON, AND HOLY SPIRIT,

ONE GOD, WHO BRINGS LIFE AND IMMORTALITY TO LIGHT THROUGH THY GOSPEL, AND BLESSED BE THY GLORIOUS NAME FOR EVER AND EVER.  FOR WE PRAY AS OUR SAVIOR  TAUGHT US, SAYING …

Lord’s Prayer (unison, using “debts):

Prayer of Confession (unison):

O ALMIGHTY GOD, WHO BROUGHT AGAIN FROM THE DEAD OUR LORD JESUS:  WE ACKNOWLEDGE THAT WE ARE UNWORTHY OF THY REDEEMING GRACE.  WE HAVE NOT BELIEVED THY PROMISES, NOR TRUSTED IN OUR LIVING LORD.  THROUGH WORLDLINESS OF SPIRIT OUR EYES HAVE BEEN BLINDED TO HIS PRESENCE WITH US.  THROUGH DISAPPOINTMENT OF MIND AND DEJECTION OF SPIRIT OUR HEARTS HAVE NOT BURNED WITHIN US AS WE HAVE HEARD HIS WORD.  WE HAVE FORGOTTEN THE GLAD TIDINGS OF HIS VICTORY OVER DEATH, AND HAVE NOT KNOWN THE THINGS THAT BELONG TO OUR PEACE.  BUT NOW IN PENITENCE WE COME TO THEE, ASKING THY FORGIVENESS.  MERCIFULLY GRANT US FORGIVENESS FROM ALL OUR SINS, AND RESTORE UNTO US THE JOY OF THY SALVATION.  FOR JESUS CHRIST’S SAKE, OUR ONLY MEDIATOR AND ADVOCATE.  AMEN.
